Leisure and Sports

There are a number of beautiful walks from the house through the wood and around lakes.  You’ll rarely see another person, so it really is an ideal place if you want some solitude. There are also regular guided walks starting in the square in Montemboeuf.  Pick up a leaflet in the house or in the Mairie.

For the more adventurous, the Lacs de Haute Charente are only 25 minutes drive away are here you can swim, sail and windsurf!  We have both swum here with our young daughter in August – trust us it is warm enough and a great way to cool down when the temperatures hit 35oc+!  The Lacs de haute Charente has beaches, restaurants, bathing & sailing.  They were created to regulate the course of the river Charente. T

There is also the near by ‘Adventure Park‘.  This is a bit like GoApe in the UK.  It is a tree top adventure with a variety of challenges to suit all ages, although you do need to be at least 150cm tall!  Equipped with a safety harness (and with lots of people to help guide you), you climb in to the branches and then tackle obstacles such as cable slides and wobbly ladders.

If golf is your thing, there is an 18 hole ‘Champion’s’ golf course 15 minutes drive away.

Golf de la Prèze is affiliated to the Fédération Française de Golf. Golf de la Prèze is…

Horse Riding
